The tournaments

	*BRITISH OPEN* The British Open is the only major tournament to be played outside the USA. In the early years it was played mainly in Scotland as the list of courses and winners will confirm.		*THE MASTERS* Golfs most unique mens championship. Played each year since 1934 at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, US. It is now the first of the mens Majors to be played in the golfing calendar and is held in the first full week of April.

	*U.S. OPEN* Staged by the United States Golf Association and played every year in June on various golf courses throughout America. The U.S. Open is one of four major championships in men's golf.		*PGA* The US PGA Championship is unique amongst the majors because only Professional golfers can take part. A fact which undoubtedly provides the tournament with one of the strongest fields in golf.

	*RYDER CUP* Prize Money takes second place to Prestige in the Ryder Cup as international matches between the great professional players of America and Great Britain are played every two years		*GRAND SLAM* The Grand Slam in golf is an unofficial concept, Having changed over time it is taken either as holding the championship of all four of the major's simultaneously, or by the more strict rule of winning the four major championships of a calendar year.
