Quick to learn, from the early age of eight, Nancy Lopez was winning Amateur Competitions
by the time she had reached twelve years old and at fifteen she won the USGA Junior Girls title.
She was destined for the professional stage when she came second in the 1975 US Women's Open
at just eighteen years of age.
This she did in 1977 and in 1978 she won a staggering nine tournaments.
Setting a record of five wins in a row and adding to her collection the LPGA title.
A young lady with a loopy but remarkably consistent swing had forced the sporting world to take notice of her.
Resulting in no less than Rolex Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the Vare Trophy for the best tournament average.
Add to this Golf Magazine Player of the Year and Nancy Lopez was on her way to a brilliant future in the game of golf.
To what does she owe her success ?
No doubt it is her highly developed power of concentration and a consistent technique
that has lead to her breaking records and winning games throughout her career.
Her appetite for success, her ability to attack the hole with accuracy
and the inspiration she inspires in other women golfers to raise
their own game has made Nancy Lopez a firm favourite in the golfing world.
