Parkland Course - 18 Hole - Par 71
One of the new golf courses of Lancashire,
Charnock Richard was established in 1994.
The 18 hole course winds its way into the small, scenic village of
Charnock Richard, near Chorley.
The ground is relatively flat parkland with plenty of water to contend
with.
Designer Chris Court took care to blend the course into the natural
landscape,
retaining the mature trees and hedges where possible, and 2000 new
trees where also planted.
The objective was to produce a course that could be enjoyed by the
beginner and the scratch golfer alike.
The tees and greens where built to a high standard and most of the
greens can be played in winter.
The signature hole of the course is the 512 yard 6th -
daunting to all golfers - with three ponds and an island green.
A large man made lake is used to full effect at the end of the course.
